Benin’s geo-strategic location means the country is a natural crossroads in West Africa. To fully exploit this asset, the Government is launching a range of large-scale projects to modernise Benin’s infrastructure, logistics, and trade.

The sector has already attracted a number of investment partners, notably in the construction of Benin’s new international airport, the extension of the historic port of Cotonou, and the extension of the road network by more than 1,300km. With the backing of private partners, the Government will further pursue this modernisation effort.
